It never ceases to amaze how many celebrities come out of the woodwork to support convicted murderers on death row. I wonder how many of this monster's supporters have talked to or even acknowledged the victims' families. This man KILLED 4 people in cold blood, three of which were from the same family. Most people could not even begin to imagine the depth of devastation and pain he has caused the surviving family members of his victims.
Just take a look at the "facts" his supporters are spewing:
1. He is a co-founder of the Crips - but he is "very sorry" for being a founding member, and would never have done it if he had a chance to go back in time and change it.
That's "very touching". Has anyone else noticed that murderers ALWAYS wish they could "do it over again"? Also, as awful and vile as it is to initiate and found a gang who's primary goal is to sell drugs and murder people - This man is not on death row for founding the Crips! He is there for butchering 4 innocent people!!!
2. Although he is very sorry about the Crips, the murders are a different story. After all, how can he regret them when he didn't commit them - he is "innocent".
I'm not going to go over all of the evidence here - let's just suffice to say it is plentiful, solid and overwhelming in it's proof that he DID commit these crimes.
3. He has spoken out against gangs since 1991, and has written children's books stating so.
I will admit that deterring even one child from joining a gang is laudable, if his books do that. However, once again, this not change the brutality of his crimes nor should it lessen or elevate his conviction.
4. Someone on the "board" for the Nobel Peace Prize nominated him for his works with the children's books.
This point is ridiculous. What does the fact that one person from Switzerland nominated him for an award have to do with the fact that he is a murderer? It certainly doesn't change the facts of what he has done or the consequences he has to face for his horrendous actions.
One other thing I noticed in watching some of the news reports on Tookie is that, without exception, everyone that knew him before and at the time he committed his crimes and was interviewed about him confirm his brutality, dominance and complete disregard for anyone except himself. If he wanted something he didn't hesitate to eliminate anyone in his way, up to and including murder. It didn't matter if it was money, drugs, or position that he desired. If he wanted it, he made sure he got it. Many of these people that have witnessed his brutality even went as far as saying that the death penalty is a just sentence for his crimes, and anything else would be a travesty. The only unjust sentence that has anything to do with this man or his case if the ones that he carried out when he shot 4 innocent people to death. I am so tired of this simple fact that seems to always get ignored or trampled on in the rush to save murderers on death row. If it only happened to one victim in one case it would be a travesty. The fact that it happens to most victims in most cases is an absolute tragedy.
