Dear mrpsports, I'm very sorry you're going through all this. Do you have a Victims' Assistance office in your city? Have you contacted Parents of Murdered Children? There's a link to them on this site. They may have info on how to get the detectives to respond to you. Victims' Assistance may have info on how to get funds to get to the detectives. Anyone else on here have any other ideas? I hope this info may help. Please keep us updated. Take care.

:-*Larua gave you the only advise I could offer. Call your District Attorney's office and make a fuss.
Fred, I did visit your Mother's page, and I tried to sign the quest book. I do not think it submitted the form. b-safe, deb

I am infuriated by how you're being treated. I think POMC may help you. However, another avenue you may want to explore is the local media...the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Since your mother's case is still unsolved, and your family isn't getting a response from the Broward Police, you can try to put pressure on the Police Dept. through the media. If nothing else, perhaps maybe renewed interest by the media may bring a witness forward. There has to be someone out there who knows something about your mother's murder...maybe after 10 years they'll feel safe enough to come forward. The downside is that you may get an article in the paper, but frankly I think anything that could bring resolution and justice in your case would be a good thing. I went to the Sun Sentinel's web site, and here is the contact information for the Broward community news editor:
John Chace, Broward County community news editor jchace@sun-sentinel.com Address: 1800 N. Commerce Parkway Weston, FL 33326 Fax: (954) 385-7979
Best wishes to you and your family. I went to your mother's website and she was a lovely person. I can tell how much she is missed. I am so sorry for your loss.

We actually have a decent investigator that calls me about once a month, just to touch base and see how we are.He lets me know if anything new has come up or even when theres nothing new.One way you could get some results,if the district attorney and nobody else will answer your calls,is to contact the newspaper or new statetion in that county. If you start getting things aired that way,the detectives will start answering your calls, they won't want a fuss.I hope you get some answers,I know it is so hard to deal with.Take care....

I am not sure what I can do but I will let you know that I live here in Florida. I can help make some phone calls, but need the numbers you have, basic info name I mean.. I do know that you have a right to know.. This happened to me as well 27 years ago and because people lack the heart at times cases do get left behind.. What I have done is call evry single day, I mean every single day, Letf message with their supervisor, etc. You need to let them know you are logging your calls every single time you call. Type a letter requesting info you need? certified mail is the best. The things that I know know that I did not know then is request for all copies of reports, any eveidence, stay in contact with them, make sure our address is updated at all times. After so long thins get lost, destroyed, or whatever they say. So, protect yourself.... Get copies of coroners report, pictures if able, police reports, request the police notes of the investigation. It can happen.. If it is still on going be patient but let them know you are on top of them, send them a picture with your letter so it makes it very personal.. Florida is a pain at times... Good luck.. Bre

Dear mrpsports, I am sorry about your loss. I live in Arizona and had lost a daughter to murder in Kansas. I suggest doing what I did, I called the local newspaper which originally covered her murder back in 1996. It is still an unsolved murder, however I do talk to the detective, when I call. I also sometime e-mail the district attorney and then I usually get an e-mail back form the decetives. I do agree with what others have said, call everyday if you can or at least once or twice a week. If you live close enought, show up in person, talk to the "Head Honcho". Gool Luck. Lori
