I'd like to encourage everyone who comes to this board on a regular basis - even you "lurkers" who read but do not post - to submit a mini-bio of yourself on the board Charlene created for Member Profiles. It can be as long or short as you like, but it would be nice if gave the basics that we all would like to know about one another, like: 1. Gender, marital status, age, children, etc. 2. Where you live (city/state). 3. Your occupation, if you have one. 4. Your hobbies and other interests besides this board 5. A summary of the events which brought you to this board. Please be sure to include a photo of yourself, if possible. It is really nice to be able to associate a face with the names with which we have become so familiar. I look forward to "meeting" EVERYONE again, including our regulars! Clarissa

I would like to post a photo but my server(geocities) doesn't allow hot links. I will add a bit more info to my profile though.

Hi Karen. Post as much as you are comfortable with. Another thing to think about; I can make the profiles board a password protected board if everyone would like that. Let me know. Also, if you send me your photo, I can host it so it would show up on the board. Charlene I'm a bit leary of posting too much personal information on the web. Of course. Post only what you are comfortable with. If you would like to post a photo, simply email it to me, Karen, and I will upload it to my ftp space and then provide you with the URL so that you can link to it. To anyone reading this: When creating your profile, do NOT post your address or phone number. And you don't need to post your last name unless want to. Personal info can be shared with other members privately, via direct email, not posted on this board.

There are just too many sickos on the internet. Personally I have been a target of online stalking by someone who was mentally unbalanced. That's why I'm more cautious now. ummmm, by the way, how do you post additional info? I don't see a place for it in the profile. I'll email you a photo this weekend. Thanks Charlene.

Hi. How do I go about setting up the info for a profile?
I'm still having some trouble navigating the new board and could use ALL the help I can get.
Thanks, Jeanne Dotts Brykalski jldbry@earthlink.net

Thanks, Jeanne Dotts Brykalski jldbry@earthlink.net At the top of the page, just beneath the banner, there are some small buttons, Home, Help, Etc. Click on the Profile one and when you get to that page, fill in the info you want to add.

The "Member Profiles" I was referencing are not the same as the one you are talking about, Karen. Charlene created an entire board for posting introductory mini-bios & profiles -- a "getting to know you" place. Go to the top of the page here, and find the little "tree" with the open folders at the top of the first message. Click on "General". On the page that opens, you will see a table that lists all of the different boards accessible at this site. Look below the two main MVS boards, and you will see a section called "Off-Topic Items". The second board listed there is called "Member Profiles". Those are the profiles I was talking about The "other" profiles are important too, but you can get much more detailed in the posted ones, and tell anything you'd like there. Clarissa

I mean I can make it password protected to the point that someone would have to have a specific password to access that one single board. I would be able to give passwords only to those people whom had been around for awhile and whom I was comfortable with. I don't necessarily think that is better, just offering it as an option if too many are not comfortable with it. Charlene Can someone please explain how this would help? Consider this: ANYONE who comes to this board can register and get a password. Clarissa
