1st - The friend was released several years back mostly because the town/state cops didn't read him his rights.
2) - My brother is up for life - eligible for parole in 15 (just did that) + 1yr&1day.
Well the parole hearing just came and went, we have to wait another 5 years for the next hearing.
I do forgive him and 'think' he has figured out what he did was stupid. I can't know, nobody can, but I think he has.
This may be the wrong place and too soon for others but forgivness takes work, I stuggled with it for years, so here goes.
Are there any people or organizations out there that help get a prisoner released sooner rather than later?
My maternal grandmother wants him out, I want him out; but by the tone of the parole board (they could give 1-5 year review date, they went with 5) and the DA's office statement I think they want him in the can forever.

Dear Joe, I'm very sorry about the losses in your family. I don't know of any group that gets prisoners out early than their term to be honest. The only thing I can think of is to look for websites that are against the death penalty or things like that, or prisoner reform type things. I agree with you the forgiveness is very hard and a process. I had to pray to forgive the perpetrator in our case, I couldn't do it on my own. But, I've had the greatest amount of peace with it all since then. I'm glad your found this site and hope it helps you. Please let us know how you are and how things go with your family's case. Take care-Laura
