Hello my name is Gina, My son Joseph was violently shaken by his father on May 28th, 2004. He was pronounced brain dead on May 29th. He was only 19 months and 22 days old and had a full life ahead of him. His dad and my husband of 15 years is in jail awaiting trial on a Capital Murder charge. It has changed my whole life and it is very hard for me to deal with.

Hello: Gina What sad news, you are sharing with us today, I'm sorry you have found your way to this board, yet I'm glad that you did. For we all here share one common bond. It is sad that you have suffered such a great loss, but it is even sadder to hear that your husband did it, I know you must have soooo many mixed emotions going on.
You are right, Joseph did have a life ahead of him and this I share your feeling, as I say the same about my grandson. It hunts me sometime knowing that I will never know what he could have became, ect...
You donated an organ, what an unselfish act on your part. I know what you mean also that this has changed you life, for all of us will agree with you on that, I feel non of us is the same since our loss.
I encourage you to come , when you feel like it and share with us anything you want, you never know, sometime it is what you say, that seem to help some one else, I know I have been help just knowing that someone can understand what I feel, It does mean much, So until the next time, I send to you a great big hug, Take care.

Thank you all for welcoming me. I was refered to this board by a friend I met at POMC. I have no regrets givin the chance to donate his organs so others have a second chance at life. He was a very special little guy and always brought joy to those he met. I love & miss him so much it hurts. He helped 3 others through this tragedy. that is a comfort to me.

Hi Gina. Thanks so much for coming back to give an update. It is really nice to be able to know what happened with the legal aspect of your case, and even better to know that you are back in school and putting one foot in front of the other. Keep up the great pace!
