My father was brutally murdered this past January in Phoenix. He was shot in the mouth and robbed. Police say the crime took less then 10 secounds. My last contact with police was simply that it is time to prepare for the fact this crime may never be solved. I am having trouble just accepting the loss and the circumstances still seam unreal. Do the police and city officials actually care? Will my grief turn to anger? Will I ever have absolute piece of mind again? My family and I live in Canada, my father was on vacation...it still feels like he is on vacation. This type of murder is so rare in my region that finding counciling is a problem.

I am so sorry for your loss of your Father. I did not know anything in this world could hurt as much as my daughter's murder has and does. If you haven't found help you are comfortable with from the other suggestions, or if you feel you are still looking for any reason for that matter, I wanted you to know that I have received much support from the group at POMC that I go to in my state. Here is a link to their national website chapter listing: www.pomc.com/chapters.cfmThere is one chapter listed in Canada, but knowing that Canada is a huge place, I also wanted you to know that some chapters of POMC also have member volunteers who have had loved ones murdered themselves who will call by phone to talk if you are too far away to go to meetings. There may be something there. I am so sorry you have reason to , but I am glad that you are coming here. I know sometimes even just coming here and reading helped me to get through these first years - at the very least to feel less alone and to help me to understand more what was happening to me. (((HUGS))))
