You all don't hear from me much, as I find my little comfort in reading & thinking. But knowing you all are just a click away is very comforting, Thanks to all of you! My frustration comes as we still have no leads as to who murdered my brother in July 2004. And to this day, the Det. has never met me; and I find this very offending, as if I'm not a part of the family. I just thought (like in the movies/TV) that they would have involved me in some way. My question is: Should he have made the first attempt in contacting me, or am I over-reacting? Also, no one (aurthorities) bothered to offer any suggestions on any support groups or anything; should they have? Fortuantely, I stumbled upon a very good support group, which I've only attended once so far. I suffer anxieties, so I'm trying to build myself up, so that I can make an appointment with the Det.; as I feel that I need to know more.

Dear Lalori, I'm sorry you're going through this. As far as I know, if there's Victims' Assistance this info should be given. As far as support groups, I'm not sure. You may want to check with Parents of Murdered Children on this. There's a link to them on this site. Detectives on cases should ideally keep in touch with the family. In my family they interviewed those relevant to the whole thing right off, but after that I didn't have any interaction with them, most likely because the perpetrator confessed the day after. But from what I've read on this board if the case is unsolved or still being looked into, they should be in touch with you. There's a show on A&E channel called Cold Case Files where they re-investigate, etc. Maybe they can give you some info also. I hope this info might help you. Please keep us updated and take care.

hi lalori, I agree that you should meet the detective. I know they limit the info. they give you, especially in an unsolved case. Take care of yourself, and good luck. b-safe deb
