After putting up a huge fuss I finally got copies of Glen's autopsy report, but there seems to be parts missing. It goes into detail about the indentations around Glen's neck from the rope (no bruising, etc.; just indentations); the examination of Glen's trachea, larynx, heart, lungs and that the blood specimen tested negative for alcohol. If anyone is interested in the details given about any of these, you can ask and I will tell you. I just didn't want to write them here in case it was too sensitive for everyone to read. We had always been told that Glen was not sexually molested, but on the copies of the autopsy report that I was sent, there is no mention whatsoever of any examination for molestation. Also not sent to me was any mention of examination for lividity anywhere on Glen's face or body (not even any mention of the bruises that were seen on Glen's face at the funeral home). No mention of any examination of his abdomen and lower organs. Nowhere on his autopsy report is any approximate time of death written (that was also always missing from Glen's death certificate). And no mention of livor mortis. I have no idea what all is missing. Only have a slight idea because of what other's have written from my posts on another board. How could my family and I have been told that Glen was not sexually molested, if there is no mention of an examination for molestation on his autopsy report? If there was at one time other documentation from his autopsy, where is it now? Why was none of that sent to me? I have been trying to tell everyone that there was always something very suspicous about Glen's death being ruled accidental despite everything that screamed foul play. And now after getting this copy of his autopsy report, it seems like the deeper I dig, the stranger everything appears.

It must have been hard to read the autopsy report. Everything does seem so suspicious and I would be so frustrated in not being able to get better or more clear answers to my questions!! Good luck!!

Dear iritgirl, I'm glad you finally got the autopsy papers. As far as them being complete, do you have a Victims' Assistance person helping you or anything? Maybe someone there can help with checking if they really are complete and all. Parents of Murdered Children might have info also. There's a link to them on here. I wish you the best in working on this. Take care.

No, I don't have anyone from Victim's Assistance helping me. I don't even know if they would help me, since it was 39 years ago that Glen was murdered. I've already tried Parents of Murdered Children, they won't post Glen's case because the police and assistant ME ruled his death an accidental death. That's the problem; too many people are still going by what the police said in 1968.

I'm sorry to hear this. Have you seen the A&E TV show (on cable TV) "Cold case files"? Maybe they can help in some way? I'm very sorry this is happening to you. Maybe this show can help. Please keep us updated and take care.

Yes, I've seen Cold Case Files many times. It's one of the shows my husband watches a lot, and one of the shows that after watching last year prompted me to contact the Cold Case Team where Glen died; hoping with all the new forensics tests that Glen's case could be re-investigated. Even though the Sgt. of the Cold Case agreed that Glen's death was suspicious, the review of his case was closed. I have thought about contacting Cold Case Files, but the problem is that like other t.v. shows, etc. that I've contacted, they probably won't want to do anything with Glen's case because even though the Sgt. of the Cold Case Team agreed that Glen's death was suspicious, Glen's death is still ruled an "accidental" death. Even if some shows, etc. would take Glen's case they would probably want to or have to contact LE to verify things; and after being told by LE that Glen's death is an "accidental" death, they would end up not taking Glen's case for their show. It's all because of the "accidental" death ruling that I'm having so much trouble getting Glen's case spotlighted by t.v. shows, etc. And it's all because nothing that should have been considered evidence from Glen's body and the area he was found dead in was saved for any possible future investigation. And that is because the detective and investigators in 1968 would not investigate Glen's death as a possible homicide.

Have you tried your government officials, ie., Congress or Senate members? It may be worth a try. I wish you the best. Take care.

I know all of this has to be getting next to you, I see and understand what you are saying about what the hold up is, sound like the problem is , you don't have enought to make someone see what you see, I wish I could come up with something, may be some one will come alone with another thought, take care.

When I was having problems getting a copy of Glen's Autopsy report, I did write a letter to the State Attorney's Office explaining everything. It was after that I did receive what I thought for awhile was Glen's autopsy report from the ME's Office. But then found out it doesn't appear to be his autopsy report; that it appears to be a report that had been sent to the State Attorney's Office in 1968. That's something I think is required for each autopsy performed. So I still haven't gotten Glen's autopsy report. On the papers I did receive from the ME's Office, it doesn't have the great detail of the findings of the preliminary autopsy that was done on Glen's body.
I still have not been able to get any copies of the original investigation records from 1968. Last year during the review of Glen's case done by the Cold Case detectives; reference was made to at least some records from 1968 still being available. And then when I got a copy of the review report from last year; it had an exact description of how the rope had been looped around Glen's neck. I compared it to what is on the papers I got from the ME's Office, and that is not where the exact description of how the rope had been looped around Glen's neck came from.
So that tells me that the Cold Case detectives had access to some other documentation from 1968 that had the exact description of how the rope had been looped around Glen's neck. But they have told me (after closing the review of Glen's case last year) that there is NO documention from 1968 left.
I can't understand how they made reference to there being at least some documentation from 1968 left last year; but then after agreeing that Glen's death was suspicious; now they tell me there is no documentation left from 1968. If it was available for them last year to get an exact description of how the rope had been looped around Glen's neck; where is it now?
If it did come from records from the ME's Office (which they did request, receive, and review); shouldn't it have been returned to the ME's Office after they closed the review last year? Shouldn't that have been at the ME's Office and sent to me along with what was sent to me?
