Hi everybody: After 5 long years, the trial for Sarah's murder finally happened. They were charging him with 2nd degree murder amongst other things but he got away w/manslaughter. Here is an article: (Ps..I really want to wipe that SMILE off his face). It seems so unfair that it was all "an accident" (typical abuser bullcrap): www.hawaiitribune-herald.com/articles/2011/02/09/local_news/local01.txt**** I had no idea I would feel this ANGRY. I knew he might get charged w/only manslaughter but I feel like I've been kicked in the stomach. *sigh* Thanks for reading and I apologize that I haven't been on these boards much in the past few years. I always think about all of you, though. Hugs, Stacey

I am so sorry...justice doesn't always get done here on earth though like it should. I hope he gets the extended time to help with some of the healing, but that will never bring her back no matter what justice is served. So sorry....

"Justice took a vacation today" - the truth from the article How could anyone decide that deliberately violating a protective order and going to beat someone to death is not intentional? And with his record of prior aggravated assaults - good grief, they think he didn't know what he was doing yet after all those previous times? I will never understand. I am so sorry Stacey No wonder you are angry. I would be furious. OF course that kind of imbalance and injustice would fuel rage. I hope you can remember the things you used to do to vent, vent, vent, and be able to relax as much as is possible. Like kmwhitley, I hope he does get that extended sentence. The article said the sentencing might be January 16. Has it taken place yet? That is an extremely dangerous person. I hope they stop listening to excuses and start taking care of the society that needs protecting from him. big cyber (((HUGS))) to you dear lady

I am so sorry for your loss. I am also sorry that he only got manslaughter after violating a restraining order and beating her to death. Our Government and Justice System doesn't seem fair. Criminal Justice seems just that, Justice for the Criminals. There is a Church sign in my area that recently posted, "Jesus is always fair and balanced." The other side of the sign read, "In God's Superbowl the Saints always win." This world may not seem fair and just for the innocent, especially for victims of crime, but God has Just Rewards waiting for us in Heaven. Take care of those precious babies who have lost their mother and give them extra special hugs and love everyday. Prayers!!

Stacey,
I am so very very sorry that you have the additional burden of not having justice served in your sister's case. Our justice system is totally dysfunctional.
We were active on this board around the same time and I have thought of you often and wondered if your case had ever gotten to the court system.
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you deal with yet another blow to your heart. I know from experience (brother's killer was out in 6 years) how hurtful this is. Take care and may you find the peace that you and your family so deserve.

Thanks everybody!!
His hearing for the possibility of extended terms will start on 3-31. So, we will see. I pray he gets life!! He waived his rights to have a jury present during this "extended" phase..so that may be a good thing in that only the judge can decide. He really is an extremely violent repeat offender. I can't see how they could possibly think it would be ok to ever release him out into the public again!?

I am so sorry to hear of this unjust decision. This animal needs to be eliminated from this earth. Frankly I would not rest with this minor conviction. This vermin must pay someday with his life, one way or another.

I cannot begin to say how bad I feel for you and your family. There are not enough tears that can be shed for this sensless act, and outcome. It just amazes me to always hear how the murderer's supporters try to justify their actions. To this day I'm still furious about how they dragged my brother through mud over and over, trying to make him deserving of death. My thoughts are with you and many positive thoughts as you move into the penalty phase. Good luck to you. p.s. your tribute website is remarkable. Truly, a beautiful tribute to someone so deserving.
