It's that time of the year again and any and all help is appreciated. This Parole Protest is for my sister-in-law, who was kidnapped and brutally assaulted by her ex-husband on December 7, 1995. She has asked me to help her again this year, last year's petition drive really helped her case. A comment made by someone on the board was that many e-mails were received on Tara's behalf and they seemed more moved by those e-mail requests than written letters mailed in.
Thanks in advance everyone! Sam

PETITION FOR NON-RELEASE FROM PRISON
DUNCAN ENGRAM - SCDC# 00234341
On December 7, 1995, Duncan Engram broke into my Grandmother's home at 3:00 am. He assualted my Grandmother and I in front of my son, who was only eleven months old at the time. He took me from my Grandmother's home against my will and dragged me to a church located approximately 1/2 mile from my home. There he beat me into semi-consciousness. When the police finally arrived, they found him sitting there staring at me. I was taken to the hospital; I was in severe shock and still to this day cannot remember all of the events of that night.
As a result of this night and the marriage, I have undergone psychiatric trreatment for PTSD, still have severe migraine headaches and was later hospitalized for severe chest pain. Doctors found a growth that is engulfed around my right pulmonary artery (inoperable), damage to one kidney and a lacerated spleen. I have undergone 2 major operations and the surgeons and doctors concur that these injuries are the result of the severe trauma that I received that night. I suffer daily. It is still very difficult for me talk about the events of that night and my life during that marriage.
I, Tara Fowler Jackson, would greatly appreciate you signing this petition. I am trying to prevent this from happening again. Duncan has proven he cannot be rehabilitated, both from the actions of that night (he was released from prison on December 1 and he kidnapped and assualted me on December 7 - he was in prison for possession of a deadly weapon) and his conduct in prison. I believe he should serve his entire sentence (10 years) without parole because I still fear for my life and that of my family's.
Victim: Tara Denise Fowler
Perp: Duncan Engram
Thanks in advance everyone! Sam
