Admittedly, I am very sensitive and emotional person. Rarely is there a drama movie where I don't end up in tears at some point. In fact my husband actually sits and waits for a scene that he knows will make me cry, and then laughs at how "sappy" I am. Anyhow I heard a song recently that not only described the heartbreak that is ever-present since Mom was murdered. It also reminded me that as long as those that love her are alive a part of her is also. The song is "you're still here" by Faith Hill. It touched me so deeply that I wanted to share the lyrics with everyone.
Thought I saw you today You were standing in the sun and then turned away And I knew it couldn't be but my heart believed Oh it seems like something everyday How could you be so far away When you're still here When I need you you're not hard to find You're still here I can see you in my baby's eyes And I laugh and cry You're still here At the dream last night That you came to me on silver wings of light I flew away with you in the painted sky And I woke up wondering what was real It is what you see and touch or what you feel Cause you're still here Oh you're everywhere we've ever been You're still here I heard you in a strangers laugh And I hunger on to hear your laugh again Just once again Oh... Thought I saw you today You were standing in the sun then you turned away Away

Hi Stacie, that sounds terriffic to me those words really hit home, out here in Australia I have not heard it can you let me know who the singer is and we can track it down, I have to say to you Stacie since our daughter was murdered in 1992, I have taken a lot more notice of the words of songs, and I know from my own experences, that our much loved daughter Tracey liked a lot of good music and songs, two being Unforgetable by Nat King Cole and his daughter, the other being Morning has Broken by Cat Stevens, and iv'e gotta tell you when I am having a bad day, "as we all have" you feel lile *deleted*, suddenly out of the radio will come one of those songs. Take care Noel

Stacie, What a beautiful song!! When I read the lyrics I cried, they really hit home with me too! It was as if someone had read my feelings and put them in a song. Thank you for sharing them. Callie

The first time I heard this song I felt that squeeze on my heart too, Stacie.
Faith really can bring emotions to the surface, which is probably why I like her so much.
Thanks for sharing!
